Voice lessons are 30-minute private lessons once per week for students ages 12 and up. The classes cover:
This class is a one-hour class for students ages 6-11 and covers the same areas as private voice lessons except it is in a group setting (with a maximum of 8 students).
Piano lessons are 30-minute private lessons once per week for ages 6 and up. Upon registration, students will receive a book bag, a folder for notes, and a free music book. Each lesson will include hand drill warm ups, review of music already learned, and practicing new material. Fifteen minute lessons two or three times a week are also an option for young students ages 3-5.
Guitar lessons are offered in acoustic, electric, and bass styles. Guitar students will learn to sight-read notes, start with learning simple songs to incorporate critical music listening, singing and humming notes, understanding rhythm, and- for younger students- it can start as simply as clapping along with a song, and learning to hum along with a tune.
Our strings program offers private instruction in violin, viola or cello. Our private violin lessons start as young as age 5. Due to the size of the instrument, most cello lessons start at 10 years of age or older. We have students of all ages from adults to children. For younger children we highly encourage a parent to sit in on the lesson to help the student at home with things such as posture and hand positioning. We supplement our private violin, viola and cello lessons with fun ensembles or groups that play in our recitals. Our violin, viola and cello teachers have university or college degrees in their instrument and many perform regularly with local orchestras or bands. Basic restrictions are usually due strictly to the size of the child – e.g. hand size for piano.
