Dress Rehearsal

9:00 AM: Students 2-6 years old ONLY Report to theater
9:20 AM: Rehearsal begins
10:00 AM: Students7+ ONLY Report to theater
10:20 AM: Students 2-6 years old will be released
12:00 PM: Students 7+ will be released

Please report to the theater with students dressed in their costumes with proper shoes and ready to rehearse. While hair and makeup does not need to be done for the rehearsal, please keep in mind that students 7 years old and older will only have a 1 hour break between rehearsal ending and the time they need to report back for the recital if they are dancing in the 1:30 p.m. recital. It is important that you make sure your children eat lunch during this time so if you’ll need more than an hour to do hair, makeup, and eat then we recommend that you come to the rehearsal with hair and makeup done so you will only need to do touch ups during the lunch break.

No parents will be allowed in the theater, backstage, or dressing room areas during rehearsal unless approved by Michelle. Please only water and light snacks for dancers during rehearsal time. After dress rehearsal, dancers must be signed out of the theater by a parent or adult guardian.

This is NOT the lineup for the recital. This is only the lineup for rehearsal so we can release the younger students first!

Recital 1

1:00 PM: Report back to theater
Dressed with makeup and hair done, you may pack some water, light snacks, and activities for your child.
1:30 PM: Recital 1 begins

Recital 2

2:30 PM: Report back to theater
Dressed with makeup and hair done, you may pack some water, light snacks, and activities for your child.
3:00 PM: Recital 2 begins

Students will be escorted to the dressing area by Academy of Music & Movement Staff only. Please speak to your child prior to coming to the recital and rehearsal that you will not be with them, but their teacher will be and that this is so you can watch them do their dance. The recital will be approximately 45 minutes long and once again each student must be signed out from the theater by a parent or adult guardian. Students must stay for the duration of the recital unless otherwise approved by Michelle prior to the day of the recital. The recital will be professionally videotaped and each enrolled family will receive one free DVD of the performance; no video cameras or flash photography please! If any parents are interested in assisting backstage, please let the front desk staff know. This would be greatly appreciated!

Production Number

Students participating in Miss Amanda’s production MUST be present for both shows. The production will be performed at the end of the first show and beginning of the second show so students not participating in the first show do not need to be at Mt. SAC for the entire first show and vice versa. The following classes are participating in the production:

Monday 4:30 PM Jazz/Tap, Monday 5:30 PM Tap I, Monday 6:30 Tap, Wednesday 5:30 Jazz I, Saturday 11:30 AM Tap

For the students that are only dancing in the second show at 3:00 P.M., please arrive at 2:00 P.M. so that you can perform the production number during the 1:30 p.m. show.

Recital Tickets

Recital tickets went on sale, March 4. Starting Monday, March 14 ticket prices will be $12 for regular seating and $17 for VIP seating (VIP--the first three rows of the theater). After May 31, tickets will no longer be available from Academy of Music and Movement. To purchase tickets after May 31, you can go directly to the Mt. SAC Box Office and purchase tickets for $15 or $20 for VIP seating. There will be assigned seating at the recital venue, so tickets will be sold on a first come, first serve basis.

Costume Pick Up

Due to our performances in the months prior to the recital, we will be handing out costumes the end of March or early April. If any alterations are needed, they will be done at that time.

Photo Day

Friday, May 20th
3:30 p.m., at the studio

The photo schedule will be posted in the studio lobby the end of March, so please come see when your child’s class will be taking their group photo. Each class will be scheduled for a class photo in 10 minute intervals so be prompt so that your child doesn’t miss their group photo time slot. Please try to be available for the class photo because they will be featured on the photo wall at the studio. Immediately following the group photo, individual photos will be taken and both the group shot and individual photos will be available for purchase. Orders must be made the day of the photos. A pricing sheet will be posted in the studio lobby and order forms will be available photo day.
